Julia and Tina are visiting the Isle of Wight next week to mark the very special date of the 4th May (which was both Mum's birthday and the day that she passed 2 years ago). It was also the date, last year, that we held Dad's Ashes Ceremony to reunite them.

Mum and Dad absolutely loved the Isle of Wight (their respective families first met on holiday in Shanklin) and they returned there most years of their married life. Many of our childhood holidays were spent in the IOW, and our own children will always associate the "Island of White" (as they affectionately call it) with some of their happiest memories shared with their Nanna and Grandad.  

It, therefore, seemed appropriate that we return there next week for our own personal memorial and challenge and, as such, we are undertaking an Isle of Wight Coastal "Memory" Walk, finishing at 'Rylstone Gardens', Shanklin (their favourite spot of all).

As this is a personal, sentimental, pilgrimage, it wasn't our intention to raise money for charity through sponsorship. However, several friends have now asked whether they could make a donation in Mum and Dad's memory.

If anyone would like to do so, we have set up this justgiving site for donations to "Rainbows Children's Hospice" (Mum and Dad's chosen charity over many years).
