I'm 22 Years old, a visually impaired skier, on The British Disabled Ski Team. I ski with a guide, Caroline Powell and together we aim to:

Podium in the 2014 Winter Paralympics!

Please support our summer training for the races in New Zealand! Costs are high and we need to perform well through training to gain our place in the 2014 selection! 

I can see about five per cent vision in each eye and ski in the B2 category. Caroline skis in front of me and via radio communication in our helmets uses pre-determined commands to get me down the course as quickly and safely as possible. 

Both Caroline and I race in 5 disciplines; Slalolm, Giant slalom, Super-g, Downhill and Super combined.

We need a race and training ski per discipline (this can be done with 4 ski's) so 8 pairs of ski's each totally 16 pairs of skis costing apprx £300 each... which gives an ideas as to the equipment costs of the season. New Zealand costs are high with expenses such as lift passes, accomodation, coaching fees, flights alone are over £4000!! We need to train abroad and unfortunatly the UK is not the best place to ski...
