Story

Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page.

From the 17th-18th of February your second-year Sussex University students Harriet and Rhiannon will be taking part in Sussex RAG's Jailbreak event, aiming to travel as far away from university as possible in 36 hours with no money. Competing against other teams we will rely on the generosity of strangers to escape Brighton through any (safe and legal) means possible.

We have decided to support the Alzheimer's Society as we have both seen firsthand how devastating a disease it can be for individuals and their families. The Alzheimer's Society contributes desperately needed funds for research into a cure, as well as working to support dementia patients within their communities. Dementia currently affects 1 out of every 14 people in the UK aged over 65 and this number is rising with our ageing population. This means that every penny we raise is contributing towards a brighter future for us and for future generations to come.

RAG will be tracking our progress live and we will be posting regular updates on Facebook. So sponsor us a lump sum or pledge an amount per mile and see how far we get! All money raised through this page will go directly to the Alzheimer's Society.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
