NNPMRT is a charity providing vital search and rescue cover for the whole of the Northumbria Police area. The team is made up entirely of volunteers and provides search and rescue service 24 hours a day 365 days per year. 

As a charity, the team relies on donations in order to keep us running and maintain their ability to provide a 'professional' service across a vast and largely remote area. This year alone, the team have responded to over 41 incidents- ranging from responding to injured hikers, to searching for vulnerable missing people, to assisting in resilience efforts in extreme weather conditions.

Currently the team are fundraising towards renewing team members personal kit, to ensure volunteers have access to the best equipment to keep them safe when out doing the essential work that they do. To boost their fundraising efforts, I'm dusting off my trainers to take part in the Great North Run.
