Story
I was taken ill suddenly in September 2013 after a Haemorrhage was caused by a ruptured AVM in my brain, Southampton looked after me round the clock for 3 weeks and operated successfully to save my life. Their care was like that of a private hospital and everything was done to support my needs medically and in way of emotional support. I can not thank them enough for what they have done for me. The money we raise will be directed through Southampton Hospital charity to the Wessex Neuro Unit where I spent my time. The hope is to use the money to fund care packs including, a peer support leaflet, ear plugs and eye masks for patients coming out of brain surgery. Noise and light sensitivity is very common especially during busy visiting times and having the florescent lights on in the evenings this is something I found very useful but not readily available under the NHS.
