Thanks for visiting my page. On 28th April 2019 I will be running the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon, wearing a life size bottle of Ultrasun sun cream. Here's why....

3 years ago out of the blue I was diagnosed with Melanoma, statistically the deadliest type of skin cancer. Fortunately after various surgeries and treatment I am now clear of the disease but my experience has changed my life forever. 

During that period, Macmillan offered great support to myself and my family when we needed it most. Until a cure for cancer is found, there will always be people suffering from this disease, and those people will always need help and support in a variety of ways. This is what Macmillan offer. You never think it will happen to you, but the statistics show cancer can affect a huge percentage of people during their lifetime. 

I am married with 3 young sons, and the last 3 years have been full of ups and downs. We are also now a lot more careful in the sun than we used to be! 

Hopefully there is a message in there somewhere about being safe in the sun, and anyone who's previously had skin cancer has to be super careful in the sun, and this outfit should also keep me protected on the day, particularly if it turns out to be as hot as it was last year 

It will be tough going on the day, but nowhere near as tough as those currently going through their own personal cancer journey.
