I'm taking on my biggest challenge yet. In June 2017, I am cycling 720km from the Atlantic Ocean to The Mediterranean climbing a total of 11,000 metres through the Pyrenees mountain range.
My other challenges this year are:
21st May - UK South Downs - 1 Day - 160km - 2570m
29th April - Majorca Mountains - 3.5 Days - 500km - 8-9000m
24th September - Velo Birmingham - 1 Day - 160km - 2000m
That's got to be worth a few quid, hasn't it?
Most people who know me, know that I had a close relationship with Breck. I lived with him for over five years and I tried to be a good step-parent to him and his brother and sisters. To me, he felt like a son. To my children, he felt like a big brother.
I will never get over the shock and horror of his death. I think of him every day, every moment I get to myself. I will never get over the senselessness of his death. He was such a clever, funny and just a really genuine, good boy. He is always there in my thoughts. He always will be.
So I have decided to raise money to support the charity that was set up in Breck's name to educate young people in Internet safety and awareness. I would really appreciate any donation to support this great charity.
Here's what they have to say:
The Breck Foundation’s mission is to educate young people how to keep safe when using the internet. Through education and awareness we teach young people that their relationships online are not like real life friendships, that they should not disclose personal information and never arrange to meet with someone who has befriended them online alone and in a private place. We do this by sharing the real life story of Breck Bednar, a 14 year old boy from Caterham who was tragically groomed online and lured to his death in February 2014.
