Story

A former front row forward who was at home in the mud and contact, I had to reevaluate my goals following a serious shoulder injury. I began running recreationally in 2015 entering a couple of half marathons raising money for cancer charities. I bit the bullet in 2017 and ran my first marathon in Edinburgh - an amazing experience and completing it in 4hours 12minutes 32 seconds! I had well and truly caught the 'running bug' i immediately entered the Edinburgh marathon again in 2018 raising more money for cancer charities. This time I completed the race in 4 hours 9 minutes 54 seconds - my PB!

I have seen first hand the impact that the Trust’s ‘Inspiration Fund’ has had on my students at KEVI, where it is used to fund incredible opportunities in sports, music and culture. These are the kinds of experiences and opportunities normally only seen in private schools. I am running to raise money for the Inspiration Fund because it is a cause that I passionately believe in and it makes a huge difference to our young people’s lives. What I raise will go towards helping students at our schools be inspired and taught by Team GB athletes, world renowned artists and musicians, through to once-in-a - lifetime outward bound trips to the Caribbean and much, much more.

I wanted to make sure that my next running challenge was something a bit different and going to make a difference. Some might say that running two marathons in four weeks is a 'crazy idea', they may well be right but I am determined to raise as much money as I can for this wonderful cause. if I manage further PBs on the way all the better - but my focus at every step and for every minute is improving the life chances of all the students within our Trust.
