Story
LIVES is a unique charity in the UK dedicated to supporting the 700+ volunteers who give up their spare time to save lives across Lincolnshire. The responders’ actions literally deliver that vital immediate medical care in those critical first moments before handing over to the Ambulance Service.
Lincolnshire's LIVES - First Responders - are on track for helping more than 20,000 people throughout our County in 2018, that’s 55 people a day receiving their emergency medical support. At £60 per patient this means having to raise, through public donations alone, £1.3 million per year and rising.
So.............to try and assist I've accepted the challenge of a solo abseil rope descent of 98 feet (I prefer to think of it in terms of only 29.9 metres!) inside Lincoln Cathedral, from the Bell Tower to the Nave, in the Lincolnshire LIVES Event on 28th July. I hope to see some of our magnificent Cathedral from this unique angle if I dare to open my eyes but the main object is of course to help raise essential cash towards LIVES vital voluntary work on our behalf throughout the County and beyond. Any support you can give to them will be enormously appreciated and put to immediate good use as well as encouragement for me!!
It's straight forward to make a 'Just Giving' Donation on this page but I also have a Sponsorship Form if you let me know you prefer that way of giving.
Many thanks indeed on my own behalf but more particularly for assisting the work that LIVES Volunteers do for us all across the county.
Kind regards,
James
PS LIVES request that any Donation you are kind enough to make is in by Friday 20th July - thanks.
