Furniture Now! is a leading community waste, re-use and training organisation helping as many people as possible access learning, skills development and household affects thereby reducing society’s negative environmental impact and building social inclusion.

I joined Furniture Now! as a driver in October 2013 having been unemployed for over 4 months, since then I have seen the effect that poverty has on a daily basis. 

At Furniture Now! we not only help people in poverty but also help them to avoid it, we work with adults to teach them to read, write and count as well as run training courses in subjects such as wood work and furniture painting.

Now that I've given you a brief insight into who we are and what we do I'm going to explain what I'm doing to next. On the weekend of 16-17th May I'm going to ride my motorbike approximately 2160 miles in under 48 hours, the trip will start at 1.30am at my home near Worthing, I'll ride to Land's End then round to St David's in Wales before heading up to John O'Groats, from there it's down to Lowestoft then back home by about 12.30am on Monday morning.....it sounds so simple! What will I get out of this? Well, apart from possibly a bad case of Farmer Giles, I'll get a certificate and more importantly the knowledge that money and awareness has been raised for such a great cause.
