Story

Thank you so much for visiting Red's JustGiving page.

Red was an absolutely amazing horse who brought joy to hundreds of people over the years he spent at Ravelrig Riding for the Disabled in Balerno.

He was a real gentleman, he would never kick or bite, was tolerant of volunteers learning to groom, pick out feet or even clip.   He was really kind to the RDA riders, and if a rider had a seizure whilst mounted on him, Red could be trusted to stand until the seizure passed or the rider was dismounted.  When hacked out by volunteers he was the one that would take the lead passed the scary objects but in the school Red had the skill to assess the volunteer’s capability and challenge them to their limit without ever putting them in danger.

Red will be an impossible act to follow, he didn't have a bad bone in his body and was a true equine gentleman.

Ravelrig's search now begins for a new horse to fill some very special shoes.......
