Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 27th May, I will be getting my hair cut so I can donate it to The Little Princess Trust. Now don't worry, I won't be going bald or anything but what I will be doing is getting it cut a lot shorter than I normally would which is me taking a huge step outside of my comfort level. The reason I am doing this, is so that it can be turned into a wig and given to a child who has lost their hair because of cancer.
This awful disease takes so much away from people and The Princess Trust tries to give them something back. It costs £350 to manufacture and produce a single wig and I have set up this page to help me raise the money needed. The Princess Trust give these wigs away free of charge and so rely on hair donations and money from people like you to keep them going.
I have sadly watched many of my
friends and family suffer this awful disease and I'm hoping that my small gesture
does some good, but I need your donations to help me do it.
I have been inspired by my beautiful Nanna who lost her 5 year fight to lung
cancer. She lost all of her hair and was embarrassed to show her gorgeous chick-like hair. She wore a wig and it gave her strength to feel better in herself. I
am grateful to whoever gave her that strength.
I have also been inspired by my awesome friend, who was diagnosed last year
with Leukaemia and I am pleased to say she won her fight this year. She is the
ultimate description of bravery and strength. She fought her battle with such
positivity and determination and we are all so proud of her and so pleased she
is cancer free. How that amazing person went through what she did with a smile
on her face, I don't know, but she did. She actually did it without a wig but I
hope my gesture can honour these amazing people and give strength to that
little boy or girl who needs it.
I have lost too many family members to this awful disease and I am sure that
most people that take their time to visit this page, have also been affected by
this horrendous disease. Please provide any support that you can, every penny
counts.
I will post pictures of the big day when I have my hair cut and thank you for taking the time to read my page x
