Story
In August 2015, my kind, generous, funny, clever and talented brother, Andrew, died suddenly and completely unexpectedly, whilst on holiday with his young family. We still don't know the exact cause, but understand that it was almost certainly the result of an undiagnosed heart condition.
Andrew will never EVER be forgotten, and one way of ensuring that this is the case is by doing positive things to remember him! So on 8th July 2017, my lovely friend, Stella and I are doing the National Three Peaks Challenge in his memory. In fact, we're doing it the week of his birthday (on 3rd July he would have been 43...). We'll be attempting to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon (the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales respectively) in the space of 24 hours....
Andrew was a very fast runner. VERY fast. I am quite a slow walker; Stella is a bit fitter than me but she has dodgy knee-itis. However, we're going to give this challenge our all, because that's what Drew would have done. And we're doing it in solidarity with Drew's amazing wife, Emma, and daughters Hannah (6) and Isla (3), and my mum and dad, who all inspire me with the way they are keeping going.
I'm so pleased that doing this challenge means that we can raise some money for charity, and I've chosen Corali, the fantastic charity I work for. Corali enables people with a learning disability to create beautiful dance performance work, build confidence and creativity, and challenge perceptions of disability.
Thank you so much for visiting our page, everyone, and hope you can sponsor us! xxxxx
PS The photo is of Drew with my two daughters, Bethan and Susannah (Jonny is in a baby seat off camera somewhere!!), during a lovely outdoorsy walk. He was a brilliant uncle as well....
