Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Shai Foundation supports children and young people in the UK and globally who have been adversely impacted through poverty, neglect and abuse.

The profile picture you see shows some of the children on our sponsorship programme in Les Cayes, Haiti.  All these children were deemed homeless last year as a result of Hurricane Mathew. The village of Charlette, Les Cayes was worst hit by the hurricane. Their homes were washed away or flattened by the hurricane. Their only church building was destroyed. The place where we taught the families business skills and where our monthly food distribution took place.

Les Cayes, which is located in the  southern region of Haiti was flattened by hurricane Mathew,  News reports suggest that 90% of the villages in the Southern region of Haiti had been destroyed by Mathew. Les Cayes is far south, apx 5 hours drive from the capital Port au Prince and often goes unnoticed by the large aid agencies.

We desperately need your donations to help build a school and enable the children in the villages to have access to education. Shai foundation currently sponsors 45 children to go to school. All our sponsored children have to walk miles to get to school. Many of their peers in the village are not as fortunate, they have no access to education because they families can't afford the fees, uniform, books etc.

Shai Foundation has been visiting  and supporting the people of Haiti since 2012. We started in Port au Prince, where we joined with Hope Force International and contributed two homes to their home building programme. We were able to take a medical team and over the two weeks there, we treated approx 500 people. We taught health education to throughout the villages and painted a number of homes in Souys Savanne.  In 2013 we moved to the South of the island  at the request of Haitian Pastor, Samuel Metelus. Sam urged us to help the people in that region, as there was much needed and very little help being offered.

In April 2013 we set up the  sponsorship programme which enables 45 children in the village of Charlette to get an education. Charlette is located in Torbeck, Les Cayes. Each month we fund the school fees and ensure the children have all the necessary school resources required including uniforms. We also provide food parcels monthly to their families. Shai Foundation also support to the children at Pastor Sam's orphanage, Glory Glory.

Shai Foundation next outreach mission trip for planned for Nov 2017. We welcome volunteers to join us. We particular welcome construction worker, painters, builders etc.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving –they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Please give, no matter how small, it's appreciated.

We also welcome donors for our sponsorship programme.  The programme cost apx £950 - £1000 depending on the fluctuating US dollar.
