Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

West Ashton School is a small village school surrounded by beautiful countryside in the heart of Wiltshire. Our school has been through some tough times recently but is not 2+ years into a complete transformation that has seen huge improvements in both the education of the children and the physical fabric of the school buildings and grounds.

Friends of West Ashton (FOWAS) is the group of parents, carers, and friends of the school who fund raise and run events to directly benefit the school and the children. We support all manner of projects big and small, from providing welly racks for classrooms to paying for children to travel to national events and attend residential trips.

My aim with this event is to purchase some new play equipment for the school grounds, to replace older equipment and provide additional features to aid the children's outdoor play.

About the charity

FOWAS (Friends of West Ashton School) is a Friends Association supporting West Ashton CE Primary School. Our members include all parents, carers, staff and friends of the school. Our role is to support the school community, by helping to strengthen links between parents, carers and staff and by raising funds to enhance the opportunities and facilities available to our children. In its time FOWAS has raised thousands of pounds, which has been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children's education and the facilities in school in general. We run a wide range of events every year both to raise money and to bring the school community together. Recent events have included a Pamper evening, a scarecrow trail, an Easter egg hunt, a disco, a Christmas pyjama party and our big summer event – the Family Fun Evening. We have also funded various workshops for the children including circus skills, People’s String Foundation and a Viking experience day.
