We are two very good friends who want to do something challenging and different for a wonderful cause. Lauren works in the Campaigns department at Human Appeal, and we are both massively supportive of the great work that the charity does to give the most vulnerable people in the world a lifeline and a route out of poverty. From providing emergency aid to those desperately suffering in conflict zones to building sustainable development programmes like schools, sanitation (WASH) facilities and farming projects in developing communities worldwide, Human Appeal really has improved the lives of thousands of people. 

More recently, they were there helping to rehabilitate communities in the north of England after the devastating floods over the winter period of 2015/2016. We cannot be more supportive of the wide variety of projects that the charity does which is why we are fundraising £6000 towards the cause. 

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the devastating conflict in Syria, where Human Appeal have been on the ground for all of these years, like they were in the early 1990s providing aid to refugees during the Balkans conflict, and they have been a lifeline to thousands in conflict zones in the Middle East and South Asia over the quarter century. 

We will be organising several fundraising activities over the next few months and would be more than happy to have anyone interested get involved!
