Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On June 11th I will start my Edinburgh to London cycle ride to attend a climate rally and call for strong climate action. The ‘Speak Up, For The Love Of...’ event will take place on the 17th of June so I’d better not be late! http://fortheloveof.org.uk/speakup/

I want to get to the rally – a mass lobby of MPs - by the greenest way I know – by bike. I love cycling and through this challenge I aim to raise awareness of the need for climate action and hopefully some money for RSPB Scotland’s climate change work, like restoring carbon-rich peat bog habitats, and climate campaigning with Stop Climate Chaos Scotland (SCCS), a coalition of which RSPB Scotland is a member, http://www.stopclimatechaos.org/ .

RSPB and SCCS are part the For The Love Of.....campaign which is seeking commitment from world leaders for a strong climate deal at the UN conference in Paris in December. http://fortheloveof.org.uk/
‘Unless politicians know this is something we all care about, they won’t have the mandate to act. So this is the time for everyone to show our politicians that we do care, that this issue is really important to us. Because it affects the things we love most.’

I will be stopping at RSPB reserves along my route through the east of England to raise awareness of the need for climate action and show that nature will be affected by climate change too if we don’t act now. More details of the route can be found on my blog https://greentraveltogreenplaces.wordpress.com/
