We fund research into spinal cord injury to find a cure for spinal injury paralysis

Story

The Hull & East Riding branch of nsif was established in 2011 by John & Angela Pye as a result of their eldest son contracting a virus on his spine in 2007 which caused paralysis from the chest down. This was in the summer of 2007 and despite the doctors' assertion that he would never walk again, by showing absolute commitment to a rehabilitation and physiotherapy programme, his determination has seen him improve to the extent that he is now able to walk with sticks.

His efforts have proved to be an inspiration to many and I am delighted to take up the challenge to raise awareness of and funding for nsif, to support my friend and work colleague Angela (receptionist at Siemens Gamesa, Hull), by taking part in the Hull 10k on June 2nd, 2019. I would be very grateful for any sponsorship, with all monies raised being ring-fenced to fund the ground-breaking research work, where there is now real hope of achieving a cure for spinal injury.
