Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Update Sep 18 : Sadly I have had to postpone my trek to Sep 2019. A combination of things has led to this. I developed a Morton’s neuroma (pinched nerve) in my foot and had to take time off training. Just as I was ready to restart training Niall came off his bike and although he
is now mending well his injuries were too severe for me to trek train and look after him and our business. It was a very hard decision to have to make as I was so focused on getting there and have worked hard to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society this year.
Thank you again to everyone who has donated to the Alzheimer
Society so far. The sponsorship will be carried over to next year’s trek..
I'm taking on the challenge of this trek to raise money for those suffering with Alzheimer's and to provide funds towards finding a cure.
The last seven years of Mum's life were blighted by this dreadful disease and it affected not just her but the whole family.
It certainly will be a challenge. Apart from the high altitude at which we will trek, I had surgery on my big toe last year to correct arthritis. Last summer I had only just started to walk properly again.
The costs of the trek are already funded, so what ever is raised from
this point on wards will go straight towards the Alzheimer's Society.
It's also a great way to remember Mum as she was such a keen walker herself. I'm really grateful for anything you can donate, not matter how small. It all adds up for this great cause.
