Cordwainers Charities

The Master's charity for 2016/17 is the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Each year the Master Cordwainer chooses a charity which members fundraise for. We also support footwear education, the Royal Society for Blind Children, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, the Royal Free Hospital and almshouses.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are keen to support and help the Royal Marsden Hospital, which does wonderful work for cancer patients. The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is the chosen Charity for 2017 of the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers. Dr William Marsden, Founder of the  Royal Marsden Hospital, was a Cordwainer ands served as Master in 1849.

This Royal Marsden is also very personal to us, as our son Nicholas had treatment for leukaemia there when he was only seven years  old.

So, we are taking part in the Marsden March walk on Sunday 19th March 2017 along with many other Cordwainers, and we will be raising the money  for a specific piece of highly specialised and ground-breaking medical equipment called the Hamilton Starlet Robot to treat breast cancer.

The Marsden March is a tough 14 mile walk from the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea to the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton. We are both training hard!

Please help us achieve our goal by supporting us and making a donation via this page.
