I’ve been a trustee of Family Gateway since we set the charity up in 2011. We do some amazing grass roots work with vulnerable families in disadvantaged comunities across the North East, and are wholly committed to improving life chances for children. The charity has developed really well but our funding streams are changing, hence me doing this sponsored bike ride. 

Sage are one of our important funders and they asked us if we’d like to join them on their London to Paris ride. Being a keen cyclist, I jumped at the chance - it’s focussing my riding and training is now well underway! We’ll be setting off early morning on Thursday 25th July to ride to 100 miles to Dover, get the ferry across to France, then two more 100 mile days to arrive in Paris on Saturday 27th, prior to the Tour de France finish on Sunday.
