Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My wife and her family, and there are lots of them, live with Huntingtons disease on a daily basis. Huntingtons is very like Parkinsons in it’s symptoms but it is hereditary, it affects the persons nervous system and has horrible consequences for everyone involved.

There is currently no cure, no preventative medicine and very little to help slow the illness down. There is however a vast amount of work going on but this all costs money as does the continued care of people with the illness either in their home or in specialist units such as Milliton Court in Cornwall where my father in law was brilliantly looked after. The money I raise will go to helping people with the illness by funding research into a cure or by providing money to make their lives and the lives of those who care for them easier.

To raise money I am going to run the Atlantic Coast Challenge which is a 78.6 miles, (3 marathons) over 3 days from Padstow in Cornwall to Lands End over the coast paths. This is a true test of physical and mental endurance so please help us by contributing anything you can to my challenge.

On behalf of myself, my family and all my wife’s family thank you very much for your time.

Many thanks to those who have already donated and a particular thank you to the St Austell Brewery Charitable Trust who have very kindly donated £500. many thanks.

John
