Story
On August 13th I will be putting on my big girl pants to take part in a tandem skydive (hopefully strapped to a Tom Hardy lookalike) to raise lots and lots of money for Farleigh Hospice! My dearest friends all hoping I pee myself on the way down so they will forever have a funny story to tell...........thanks guys love you too!!!
The reason for this mad decision..................This June will be three years since I lost my wonderful hubby to Bone Cancer, a battle I watched him fight bravely for eight years, never moaning, always smiling and always putting us first. Not a single day goes past without us talking about him and usually laughing about something he'd got up to! However, one of his grand plans was to one day do a skydive but due to the damage caused by numerous operations he wouldn't have been allowed so this jump is as much for my Bigman as it is to raise those pennies. And I can guarantee that he would be the first one laughing at the thought of me doing this!! But...........when I get nervous thinking about what I'm going to do I will remember the very important reasons why.
During the last few weeks of Rich's life Farleigh were a fantastic support to us as a family, they helped provide Rich with equipment to make his day to day life easier, there was always someone at the end of the phone for us if we needed advice and just knowing that was available gave Rich the opportunity to relax a little. After we lost our amazing hubby/daddy Farleigh provided unbelievable support to our children, they gave them the chance to meet other children going through similar situations and provided them with the tools to try and cope with their grief, tools they still turn to today.
I will be forever grateful to these amazing people for everything they did for our family and thank you will never be enough. Raising money for this wonderful charity means they can continue their amazing work for other families going through heart breaking illnesses.
Any donations will be gratefully received and any words of encouragement will also be VERY welcome!
Thank you for reading my page (and hopefully donating)
