On the 16th of June, I will be participating in the London to Brighton cycling ride in support of the Medical Research Foundation.
Being an inexperienced biker, the challenge is high although I am determined to ride the 60 miles of hilly roads and make it to the finish line.
I will be riding with my nephew in mind, who had the extraordinary courage and strength to survive an unexplained stroke in his early months of life, reminding us that nothing is insurmountable.
Many of the diseases and conditions that affect human health have only been cured or treated as a result of medical research.
The Medical Research Foundation supports tens of projects and researchers each year in areas of high clinical need that receive little or no investment.
The health and wellbeing of millions of people depends upon continual medical advances. And this challenge needs immense support, innovation and persistence.
Thanks for your support
