Event: Trek26 Hadrian's Wall, on 11 August 2018
Participants: John Henderson
Dotted with Roman forts and towers, this is remarkable area to explore by foot with stunning scenery throughout. Both distances are both very challenging and should not be underestimated.

Story

Julie works for Alzheimer's Society and John is a volunteer. Both of us have had family members who have lived with dementia and we are determined to support the Society's work.

We are both from York where Julie has lived all her life, whilst John grew up in Altrincham, Greater Manchester. Alzheimer's Society is asking us all to be "United Against Dementia". So, Altrincham FC and York City FC who are rivals in the Vanarama  National League North, are doing just that by helping us raise sponsorship.

Proud Yorkist Julie will be wearing the red and white stripes of Altrincham, whilst lifelong Alty supporter John will don a City shirt - both for the full 26 miles of the trek.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
