We rescue unwanted dogs to find loving new homes for them

Story

Animal Helpline stands up to say that dogs do not deserve to be dumped like disposable waste, devoid of value on the street. We see the dogs on death row in pounds and say this is not a reality we can accept, where our society allows such wonderful creatures to be tossed aside when they become surplus to requirements. We may not have the cushiest kennels or the best facilities, but we have big hearts and open arms for the abandoned dogs of this ‘animal-loving’ country who have no other hope, save the vets waiting needle. We give dogs the chance to live. The rescues who have come through our doors have gone on to achieve such heights as PAT dogs, RAF dogs, excelling in obedience, right through to childrens playmates, comforters and as simply perfect companions as providing that wagging tail that greets you when you get home. We understand the joy a dog can bring to a lonely older person, the childhood memories they can be a part of, and the inherent worth that these giving and loving animals have that is too precious to be possible to measure. Without the little charities like Animal Helpline, dogs will be turned away at the gates or shut away forgotten in pounds, out of sight and out of mind until their time is up and a black bag awaits them. Without Animal Helpline, hundreds of dogs out in the world today would have suffered this fate, dying with nobody to mourn them, and without even the dignity of a name. Instead, they are happy in caring homes, enriching the lives of those who love them and enjoying every new day as only a dog can! Which ending would you choose for them?

Animal Helpline has no management & no staff only Ros Norman with her merry band of volunteers. Ros has been saving dogs lives for 35years & we on average re-home 600dogs a year.......so on a quick calculation AH have saved over 20,000dogs.....

We are an independent 'last resort' dog rescue centre and our aim is to rescue unwanted dogs and seek loving new homes for them. Many dogs would have been destroyed had we not intervened and offered them a lifeline and the chance of a life with new, loving owners.
