We support people to help rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We will be cycling from Retford to Skegness in , June 2010, to raise money for The Stroke Association, a distance of 65 miles (105 kilometres).  Almost everyone knows someone who has had a stroke, it can touch all our lives, so please dig deep and donate all you can.

Every year an estimated 150,000 people in the have a stroke. Of all people who suffer from a stroke, about a third are likely to die within the first 10 days, about a third are likely to make a recovery within one month and about a third are likely to be left disabled and needing rehabilitation. Stroke has a greater disability impact than any other medical condition. A quarter of a million people are living with long-term disability as a result of stroke in the .

The Stroke Association is the only  wide charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages. It funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through its Life After Stroke Services.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
