Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our 2017 swim challenge page.

We started tentatively open water swimming last September after volunteering for the Dart 10k and getting swept away (figuratively and literally) by the event...and the rain...

We've continued swimming through the winter, though the durations have been getting shorter as the temperature has decreased. Who knew a hot water bottle was an essential bit of swim kit?!

The Bantham Swoosh is in June and is 6km, the Plymouth Breakwater swim is in August and is 3.5km.

These swims will be a real challenge mentally and physically. Ju's longest swim ever was 1.6km and that was, shall we say, a while ago. In a pool. Jon has his 25m badge. Suffice to say we've never done anything like this before and to be honest, at this point, we don't know if we'll be able to complete them.

But then it wouldn't be a challenge otherwise would it?

We are hoping to also raise a little money for a really important and perhaps lesser known charity to help provide ultrasound MRi fusion machines throughout Devon.

If you do have a few pennies to spare, please throw them our way... along with buoyant thoughts...xxx

See you in the sea :) Ju and Jon
