2018 is a big year for me!

I turned 50 in Februrary!

(I can imagine what you're thinking right now - no way is Keith 50 years old...Those youthful good looks...)

In celebration of the fact that I made it this far and to mark this monumental turning point in my life I - with a little of help from my friends - have set myself 50 challenges/experiences to complete throughout my 50th year! What began as a swim from Alcatraz to San Francisco has morphed into the craziest year of my life!

Some of these will be physically gruelling (some of you on social media may have noticed I've been in training...) and some will push me RIGHT out of my comfort zone, others are simply things I've always wanted to do. You'll be surprised which challenges I'll find the toughest, but I'm hoping that all of them will be adventures and perhaps lead me to discover new things. Many of my family and friends have been roped into some of these challenges. Your support has been invaluable. You know who you are!

As well as a celebration this is also a fantastic opportunity to do some good and I would love it if you would support me in my challenges by donating to my Just Giving fund in aid of CLAN.

All of us have been affected by Cancer in some way and CLAN are a fantastic charity, local to the North East who offer emotional and practical support to Cancer sufferers and their families. I lost both my mum and dad two years ago and have first hand knowledge of how devastating cancer is.

I have completed many of my challenges / experiences despite being hampered with an Achilles problem in January and a fractured foot in May.
