I am really excited to be part of Team Sarcoma for the 2019 London Marathon.

In 2018 my mum Celia was diagnosed with sarcoma after finding a lump on her thigh. She has been through radiotherapy and an operation to remove the lump. Thankfully the prognosis is good and at her most recent check up she was given the all clear. I am in complete awe of how my mum and dad have dealt with this whole episode, and the support they have received from Sarcoma UK.

I am more of a cyclist than a runner and this will be my first (and only!) marathon so running the London Marathon will be completely outside of my comfort zone. I will post updates about my training below :-)

Following the London Marathon in April, I will have a 2 week break before I cycle to Paris in May. This will be about 550km and cycling around 100km each day. I have cycled 100km before... but not for 5 days in a row. Instead of doing the traditional London to Paris, we are doing Dieppe to Paris to Dieppe along the Avenue Verte. A self organised and self financed week of cycling with friends :-)

Sarcoma is a cancer of the bone and soft tissue. It is one of the hardest to diagnose, and difficult to treat. We can help change this.
