Fundraising for St Wilfrid's Hospice (Eastbourne) Ltd
Story
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are very excited (and slightly apprehensive!) to have signed up to the Trek Sahara for St Wilfrid’s Hospice in November.
Let us tell you a little about our challenge. After a nine hour bus journey from Marrakech across the Atlas Mountains we will arrive in the desert to begin our three day trek across this diverse landscape of ancient dried up river beds, sand dunes and vast sun baked plains. We will be walking up to 20 km a day in 40 degree heat and camping under the stars at night in zero degrees! Just our group of thirty trekkers, camels to carry our bags and local Berbers to guide us on our journey - no roads, no shops, no restaurants and no loos or showers!! So quite a challenge for us - particularly going without our everyday luxuries!
Why?
St Wilfrid’s Hospice offers a vital service in our community. It cost £5.7 million to provide all the services in 2016-2017 free of charge to all who needed them. Last year our local community helped raise 70% of their funding ensuring that hospice care is there for all local families. Their catchment area covers Eastbourne, Polegate, Pevensey, Seaford, Hailsham, Heathfield, Uckfield and everywhere in between - an enormous area helping so many at a time of need.
We have both loved and lost family and friends and seen the incredible work this amazing place does so we would like to do our bit with your help too. Donating to St Wilfrid’s means that compassionate care and support can continue to be provided to those facing a life-limiting diagnosis, as well as their families and loved ones.
Your donation directly contributes to helping local people and we thank you for your support.

Any donation small or large would be really appreciated and help us reach our target. All of your donation will go directly to the Hospice as we are funding the Trek ourselves.
