Fundraising for RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution
Story
I'm running the London Marathon for the RNLI and as a trainee member of the Cromer Lifeboat Crew, it's a charity very close to my heart. I'm sure you all know that the RNLI rely on volunteers and charity donations to run it's lifesaving services but did you know that it costs around £1600 per year to train a new crew member?
Joining the RNLI has given me a new respect for the sea, I'm learning so many new skills and I've met a bunch of fantastic people. I've never run a marathon before - 4 years ago I struggled to run around my local park but I'm training hard and I'm really proud to be running for a charity that I volunteer with in North Norfolk. I know that the donations that you make will be put to extremely good use, training me and others to save lives at sea.
The RNLI relies on voluntary contributions for its income and receives no UK Government funding. Your support is vital, it enables us to train and equip our lifeguards and volunteer crew.
