Story
Three ‘ladies’ and a flat coat, Sarah-Jane, Kate, Linda and Jack, are taking up the Yorkshire Dales 3 peaks challenge in July of this year to raise money for the National Autistic Society. Our challenge will involve completing 3 peaks over 25 miles in less than 12 hours!
There are over half a million people in the UK with autism - that's around 1 in 100. If you include their families, autism touches the lives of over two million people every day. People you might know.
Many people with autism, including families with young children have to fight to get the support and recognition and the National Autistic Society make a positive difference to their lives and we want to help them do the same for even more of the two million people in the UK living with autism.
We want a world where everyone living with autism will:
- get the support, education and training they need
- live with dignity and as independently as possible
- be a part of their community and wider society
- be understood by all professionals who support them
- be respected for who they are by a knowledgeable public.
