Back in 2010, James was diagnosed with vasculitis - Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA). It is a very rare autoimmune disease and it means his health needs to be carefully managed for the rest of his life. As the condition is so rare, it can be difficult to diagnose and once it is diagnosed, difficult to interpret test results and treatment plans. The Charity, Vasculitis UK, raises awareness of this little known condition. It helps increase the speed of diagnosis, makes new research more accessible and gives much needed information and advice to patients and their families often during quite scary times.
