In August last year, a wonderful friend, Val, was tragically killed in a carriage driving accident on the road.

We would meet Val and Paul at the local annual North Staffs point 2 point every year and have a fantastic time.

This year, at the same point 2 point, the first one without Val, the organisers have decided to hold their first ever side-saddle dash.

 I am planning to ride this race, my first one ever, in memory of Val
and to raise much needed funds for Brake - Brake is a road safety
charity working to prevent road deaths and serious injuries, and support
 victims.
