Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
There are over 850,000 people currently living with dementia in the UK. More than 520,000 of those suffer from Alzheimer's disease. Having worked in the care sector for almost a year I have seen first hand how dementia robs the independence from people and whilst it mainly affects people over the age of 65, there are currently more than 40,000 people under this age living with the disease.
This is why I have decided to take part in Ride London (a 100 mile bike ride) and raise some money for Alzheimer's Society so that they can do more to improve the lives of people suffering from dementia.
Just £20 could pay for a person with dementia to spend an hour with an experienced Dementia Support Worker.
£50 could fund the equipment a dementia researcher needs to investigate ways to improve care and treatment for the condition and bring us closer to finding a cure.
Thank you so much for your generous donations! Knowing that you are behind me in supporting this very worthy cause will help me to complete my challenge on 31 July.
