Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I want to tell you a little story about a special little boy called Kai and hope you can help!  Mikaere Grant Hulance (Kai) was born last October with a Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH).  His parents Elly
and Sam are very good friends of mine and I want to help them drive awareness and help fund critical research for NKH.

It’s a rare metabolic disease with no cure and limited treatment
options. Only 500 children live with the disease worldwide and the one and only NKH Charity - Joseph's Goal helps fund Professor Nick Greene at UCL/Great Ormond St Hospital who needs to raise £90,000 for research in order to provide any chance of finding a treatment or cure. He is developing gene therapy options to provide longer term treatment and so far, his research has had promising results.

So - next weekend – I am going to join my friends for part of their 78
mile walk around the Thames – and you can help!  Please consider sponsoring a mile on our trek or just donating a few quid for an extremely worthy cause!  If we manage to get all the miles sponsored – Sam (Kai’s dad) is going to dress up as a Bee - the unofficial symbol of NKH.
