My Dad, Gilbert Lailvaux, was diagnosed with cancer last year. For the last few months he has undergone chemotherapy but this has not diminished his trademark positive attitude. It has been a hard time for our family but it has brought us even closer together.

After the diagnosis, our Dad was put on a trial treatment run by Cancer Research UK. I will be forever grateful for the support they have provided over the last few months and also to the staff, nurses and doctors at Bristol Royal Infirmary and Southmead Hospital, who gave outstanding care.

Team Dodos will be running the Tough Mudder in August to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Tough Mudder is a gruelling obstacle course that is 12 miles long. Please give what you can to this outstanding charity.
