Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Did you know that there’s 3 different kinds of Down syndrome? Because up until recently, my answer to that was also no. There’s the one we all know about, trisomy 21. But, there’s also translocation mosaic and mosaic. 15% of people diagnosed with trisomy 21 have been wrongly diagnosed and actually have translocation or Mosaic. Approximately 1 in 27,000 people are diagnosed with Mosaic Down syndrome every year. That 1 in 27,000 was my gorgeous little sister; Payson. There are many individuals who are never diagnosed with this condition at all as it’s features and tell tale signs aren’t as distinctive as trisomy 21.

Our aim for this 15000ft skydive is to raise awareness to everyone about the different kinds of Down's syndrome, and that it isn't as easy to spot as we think. Life with down syndrome can be just the same as the life you or I live.
