Story

I have made a little change the distance is the same as it was before which is 68.4 miles it will now be done 11 days in a row which will be 6 miles a day the run will start on Wednesday the 26th of October and will finish on Saturday the 5th of November  to raise money for limbpower. I'm not a amputee myself but with a visual impairment which is a eye condition called Aniridia and with autism things can be challenging and I know what difference it can make to get in sport with a impairment makes all the difference  it gives you so much confindence and to  sociaise with people who understand. They do a amazing job so to help them to continue what they are doing is amazing. So if you can support me for this amazing chairty so they can keep doing what they are doing and help so many people it makes a big difference. Without the work limbpower does things will be so different  it's a life changer for so many people . without it so many people will be lost and won't get though it. There are so many people That don't know what limbpower is and what they do which changes lives everyday it can make all the difference for someone  just to know that it's there if they ever needed it. Thank u for everyone's support  it does really mean a lot thank u it's incredible the amount of people that don't even know about it. You don't need to be a sporty person it's just about being there try new things meet new people that understand each other of what they are going through which makes all the difference it's amazing. Thank you for all for your amazing support.

Here is more information Here is my story of what I've shared with souls with a story Hi, my name is Laura Cartmill, I’m 26  I was born with an eye condition called ‘Aniridia’ (an absence of the iris, and an enlarged pupil) which means the eyes cannot shut out the light. My eyes get very sore, especially during the summer; I wear dark glasses and these help with the sensitivity. I take two types of eye-drops daily to keep the eye pressure to a minimum, and later, in time, I will go blind. This fact affects me some days more than others, but I must take each day as it comes and enjoy what I can see today.

I also have autism. Having this condition affects a lot of things in my life. Meeting new people, communicating and socialising can be difficult for me, I also, at times struggle with being in a big crowd and loud noise. The severity of my conditions differs from day to day, and I must live one day at a time. Having these conditions makes life hard for me, but there is always a way around it, it can be frustrating, but I always try and remain as positive as possible.

Five years ago, I joined a football team for people with varied disabilities. Since joining this team, my confidence has been built tremendously, because these individuals understand me and I feel that I can communicate and socialise better in their company. Before joining football, I didn’t talk to anybody; now, I have more confidence, and I even helped to coach the team (we were branded the ‘Dream Team’).

I never thought it would be possible to do something like that, but since the coaching experience, it has given me the confidence to take part in a fundraiser for a charity called Limbpower. In October, 2016, I will be attempting to run 68 miles in 11 days in a row.  Limbpower is a charity helping to engage amputees and individuals with limb impairments in physical activity, sport and the arts to improve quality of life and to aid lifelong rehabilitation.

Thank you for reading my story. I hope that my story will inspire people facing tough challenges in life to fight on and to remain positive. Believe that anything is possible. thank u for reading my story and supporting me and making all the difference it means the world thank u  👍
