We train teachers and support schools to put an end to wasted potential

Story

This October I'll be taking on my second half-marathon, this time heading down South to London for The Royal Parks Foundation Half-Marathon. I've always found joy in long-distance running; from the peaceful moments in training to the adrenaline rush at the start of the race. But I began to think that my running can do so much more than simply make me happy.

That's why I'm raising money this year, and not just for any charity, but for one whose mission I truly and passionately believe in. Teach First is a fantastic charity which does everything in its power to fight widespread socio-economic inequality from the ground up. And it all starts with education.

As someone who has spent countless years working with young people from all walks of life, I have seen the true value in education for all. Unfortunately, the reality is that education inequality continues to be a significant issue which affects peoples' lives starting from childhood,  and extending into adulthood. In fact, in the UK "young people from the poorest homes are seven times less likely to attend the best universities than those from the wealthiest."

We can all agree that a child's success in school should not depend on their family's income. Teach First aims to target this problem by providing low-income children with high-quality education.

Please donate anything you can to help me reach my goal. Both myself and the team at Teach First will greatly appreciate it!
