Our son Spencer was born with shoulder dystocia, which meant his shoulder got stuck on Hannah's pubic bone during delivery after the head was delivered. The cord was wrapped so tightly around his neck the midwives were unable to cut i No amount of pushing or contractions would have brought him into the world. It was a huge 11 minutes between his head and his body being delivered and Spencer didn't take his first breath until 4 minutes after being born, these minutes were the longest of our lives.It truly was the most traumatic and heart breaking time. 

Thankfully Spencer was absolutely fine after his checks and is doing amazingly now-a whole 15lbs at 11 weeks amazing. 

The Midwife that evening knew exactly what manouvres to do to help him out. The efficiency and professional caring way that they dealt with the situation that evening was amazing and if it was not for the PROMPT training the midwives received things may have been very different. We are all so thankful for everything they did that evening so I am doing a skydive to raise money for PROMPT, who provide the training to midwives and other professionals to make the delivery of babies the safest it can be. That way we can provide more training to assist further SD births.
