Supporting those who are struggling during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Story

In response to the coronavirus crisis we are pleased to say that The Salvation Army Leigh on Sea is still active during this crisis. Whilst our normal church activities are suspended in response to the government's advise, we are pleased to be supporting over 150 people by regular phone and email contact and have established a support network whereby shopping and prescriptions can be obtained.

In addition, we are pleased to be partnering with Southend Social Services to support one of the most vulnerable and neglected groups, namely the children of people who have been placed on the government's 'sheltered' list. Whilst the individuals on the 'sheltered' list are due to receive a weekly food parcel we have discovered that this food parcel is for the 'sheltered' person only. This leaves any children in the household vulnerable to hunger and we are stepping in to meet this need where it is identified.  We are also interested in supporting Self Employed people who find themselves in need of support at this time.

If you would like to donate to The Salvation Army Leigh on Sea to support the continuance of this vital work please give what you can to enable us to help as many people as possible!
