Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Myself, Greg Murdoch (Louis Dad|) & Lydia Perkins are running the Cardiff half marathon 2015 for a Fantastic Charity The Ally Cadence Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy who protect and promote the physical and metal health of sufferers of spinal muscular atrophy and their families across the United Kingdom through the provision of support, education and practical advice and funding into research into the condition.

Ally Cadence was the daughter of Emma & Karl the founders of the Ally Cadence Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (ACT for SMA) She died aged six months, just 12 days after being diagnosed. In the 12 short days after Ally diagnosis, her family had a lot of support from NHS, but they never got to meet their allocated SAM support family, They would have been the one point of contact that could see things from a parents point of view and it was this that inspired Ally's parents  set up ACT for SMA. They felt that parents with recently diagnosed children deserved a quick response for support and information. The answer was the Ally Cadence Trust.

1We will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon on 4th October 2015 to raise money for this fantastic charity. This is a charity very close to our heart because we have a family member Louis Murdoch (Greg's son) with this life limiting illness and know first hand what a great charity this is.

We want help to raise awareness and also to give some financial help which will hopefully aid their research to finding better treatments or even one day a cure for SMA.

Please help us to raise money by donating generously  for this fantastic charity to allow them to continue in their incredible research.

We will be aiming to run as fast as we possibly can ignoring any aches and pains thinking about the bravest little boy we have ever known.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
