Oxford Half Marathon 2019 · 13 October 2019 ·

A cafe for homeless and vulnerably-housed people aged 25+ in the centre of Oxford. Open six days a week in the early evening. We provide a wide range of support services and advice as well as simple, nutritious food and drink. In other words, a community centre for those who have no community.

Story

In October I'm running the Oxford Half to raise money for Gatehouse, a charity that helps homeless people in Oxford.

Homelessness has been on the rise in Oxford (and across the country) for a number of years, and charities like The Gatehouse do invaluable work to give support to some of the most vulnerable members of our society who have been failed by the housing crisis and austerity policies.

The team at Gatehouse provide regular drop-in sessions for homeless people in Oxford. Additionally to warmth and shelter, people attending the drop-in sessions can receive food, drink, as well as toiletries and other items they may need.

The Gatehouse also offer support and advice services, run workshops and activities to improve skills and confidence and operate an outreach team on the streets of Oxford.

Please give what you can to support the work The Gatehouse does to help out people in need.

Thanks!!
