We raise funds and awareness to support those affected by Vascular EDS.

Story

Annabelle's Challenge is the leading charity for vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome in the UK to raise awareness and support for patients and families affected by vascular EDS. Vascular EDS is a life threatening connective tissue disorder that affects all tissues, arteries and internal organs making them extremely fragile. This year we tragically lost Carl George to this condition, and The Leys CCF are completing the Paras' 10 in commemoration of him.

The PARAS'10 (www.paras10.com) is a 10 mile endurance race based on The Parachute Regiment's 10 miler from selection at the end of training. The 10 mile march is the first event and is conducted over undulating terrain with each man carrying a bergen weighing 35lbs plus water and a weapon. The march must be completed in 1 hour 50 minutes and it is this event that forms the basis of the PARAS'10.

Lizzie, Jaya, Bryony, Freddie, Jonnie and Mr Springall will be completing the 'light order' run version of the event, and Dan, Mr McAlinden and Mr Fawcett will be running in boots and carrying 35 lbs for the full 'P Company' experience.

Please support students and staff generously as they complete this grueling challenge in the memory of Carl.
