Story

Our 12 year old daughter, Lily, is running 60 miles this May in support of St David’s Hospice. Her Grandad, my Dad, was cared for there in 2017 and spent his last weeks under their constant care and supervision for which we will be eternally grateful.

In the final weeks and days of an illness, when there are no more treatment options available, hospice care is crucial. St David's Hospice provides end of life and palliative care to people with terminal or life-limiting conditions and to their families. The support ranges from pain management and psychological support through to bereavement counselling for family members

Right now, the hospice, along with all UK charities, are struggling as fundraising events are at a minimum during lockdown, and their shops and outlets are unable to open, which usually provide an invaluable source of income

Every year 250 patients and their families benefit from the exceptional care of our local hospice. It costs £2 million a year to run that service. You hope you'll never need it, but you never know when you will.
