Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support.
I have a couple of reasons for participating in this walk. Completely out of the blue, a couple of my close friends suffered from heart and circulatory disease issues in the last year. Both were healthy guys before their sudden health ‘hiccups’ and luckily, with swift medical intervention, both are on the mend but are very aware of their mortality...... My second reason is pretty selfish to be honest. After my friends' experience I realised how lucky I've been with my own health; I've not looked after myself in recent years and need to get myself in better shape. This cause will help me remain focussed. I can't let others down!!
My plan is to walk the Hadrian's Wall Trail from East to West across the country with a couple of great friends... and their dog!! It's an 84 mile walk, plus a bit of detouring to reach our hotels, and we're planning to do it in 6 days.
Life is full of rewards, but the best reward for me comes from giving. It's thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. For you and I, all it takes is skipping Starbucks for a few days, eating in instead of out or maybe painting our own nails..... £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me bust my target. Wish me luck with getting fit........Thanks!
