Story

Lindsay was born in 1988.   She was born was born with a congenital heart and lung defect and had her first surgery at 3 weeks old.  She has had a constant battle with illness and surgery all her life.  Lindsay has now been told she has a life shortening prognosis, already defying a prognosis given just over a year ago.  Lindsay has always “looked on the bright side of life and she continues to do so with ‘Lindsay’s Promise’.

Earlier this year Lindsay lost her friend, a young man she met through the Adult Congenital Heart Disease  (ACHD)  Association and were both treated at Manchester Heart Centre.

The Centre has an amazing team of specialist nurses along with other medical colleagues.  One nurse, Linda, looked after Lindsay at the beginning of her life and the circle is almost complete as 25 amazing years after they first met, Lindsay and Linda again met up at the heart centre.   Linda and her colleagues have been amazing these past years, providing support, advice and most of all love to lots of people with congenital heart disease.  It seems almost poignant that as Linda was there at the start of Lindsey’s life journey, she is back with us now supporting us towards Lindsay’s end of life journey.

Lindsay and Antony wanted to raise funds to improve facilities at Manchester Heart Centre for young adults with congenital heart
disease.  They had just started their challenge when sadly Antony passed away.

To help Lindsay to fulfil her promise to Antony and to tick off her
bucket list, she would like you to buy this charity single with all proceeds
going to the ACHD fund, Manchester Royal Infirmary Charity.
