Sunday, 1 May heralds the start of National Walking Month, one of the most fun forms of exercise and travel John and I enjoyed in our 40 years together. This happily coincides with the perfect opportunity for me to undertake a sponsored walk in John’s memory.
I'll be tackling St Oswald’s Way in Northumberland on 27-30 May '22 in aid of St Luke’s Hospice, which provided vital support for John in his final days at home in Nov '20.
Jonathan & I could not have managed those 5 days without the Hospice's 24/7 practical assistance and emotional support; plus they continue to help me and many others in the ongoing struggles with bereavement so many of us have faced during the pandemic. Sadly, half of the Hospice’s retail volunteers and much income was lost during the last 2 years but St Luke’s celebrates its 35th Anniversary of care this year and needs our support. Hospices are places of hope and love, many of them run largely on public donations - we all need to support and value them.
John and I enjoyed our last walking holiday in Alnmouth, Northumberland which poignantly is where St Luke's walkers will be staying - and where this photo was taken of us in 2019.
I do hope you'll consider making a donation to my fund-raising efforts - and in doing so remember John with love and affection.
Your gift (with Gift Aid if appropriate) will be hugely valued - it will also give me motivation and inspiration in my efforts to complete the walk after my fall last year - I know John would have been smiling and cheering from the check points!
Thank you friends 🙏
